NATURE OF THINGS

Galerie der Moderne, client
2019

As the title suggests, the exhibition celebrates the nature of things, presenting arrangements of objects and found materials in a new context. Taking ordinary elements to extraordinary heights. For this series of works, the artist used simple items and everyday forms inspired by her immediate surroundings: the parks and forests of Berlin, the garden of her holiday home in Italy, and her beloved staple, the hardware stores. Her unique way of seeing and experiencing her environment, opens up the doors to a realm of magic and surrealist symbolism. A world where a saw grows the spiky tongue of a succulent plant, a fire extinguisher blows red, horn-like flowers, and a turbot with wheels transforms into a skateboard.
